Is sight·line FERPA compliant?
Yes. All student data stays on your machine. sight·line never transmits, stores, or processes student information on any server. There are no cloud accounts, no user logins, and no third-party data processing. The only network call is license key validation, which contains zero student data.
Does the AI send my data to the cloud?
No. AI features run entirely on your local machine using Ollama. The AI model is downloaded once and runs offline. No observation data, student names, or session content ever leaves your device. Cloud AI providers are available as an optional user choice only.
What happens if I lose internet access?
sight·line works completely offline. All recording, analysis, and export features function without an internet connection. Your license is validated once every 30 days, with a 7-day grace period if you're offline during revalidation.
Can I transfer my license to a new computer?
Yes. Each license activates one machine at a time. Deactivate your old machine through the self-service portal, then activate on your new computer. Your data can be copied by moving the sight·line data folder.
What's the difference between one-time and annual pricing?
One-time licenses are yours forever with no recurring charges. Annual licenses cost less upfront and include all updates for the subscription year. Both options include the same features for their tier.
